Booked for Christmas Eve. The set menu was really wonderful. Some really delicious courses, together with really good wines. The whole resturant was decorated out for Christmas. Staff were excellent with great service and explanations of each course. The violinist whoprovided the entertainment was perfect to complete the evening. He played everything from clasical to contemporary music. We departed having had a perfect memorable evening.less

I stopped by the restaurant today. When my husband asked about New Year's Eve dinner, he was informed by the waiter that the restaurant was all booked out and that "you can not afford it". I was shocked that a waiter tells people what they can or cannot afford. Therefore I decided against spending New Year's Eve at the restaurant.less
We spent Christmas Eve here and found the food to be perfect. We had great service and were kept informed about our booking prior to leaving the UK. We were sat outside, which was absolutely fine, the wine flowed well. I just felt it might have been nice for the violinist to move around a little so that the parties sat outside could have been a little more included.less
This has always been a favourite restaurant of mine and I always go at least once every time I come to Madeira - 2 or 3 times a year. I have been frequenting the establishment since it opened in premises further down the road. I always have the concept menu which is very good value for money considering all beverages are included (there is no restriction on how often the glass is filled) and there is the offer of being driven to and from your hotel at no extra cost. The service is discreet but timeous and the staff are friendly and answer any questions you may have. Each course is explained as it is served. It has been refurbished this year giving it a much more open feeling of space but still stylish and beautifully decorated. I was there for New Years Eve and the food as always was amazing, beautifully presented and the set menu for the evening inventive without being pretentious. The Christmas decorations were beautiful. The entertainment was excellent - a violinist -who played popular songs and many of us joined in singing. This only enhanced the atmosphere. For me the highlight was meeting the owner to tell her how much I loved the restaurant and how much I had enjoyed every aspect of the meal. It was a perfect prelude to the New Year fireworks which were stunning. I’m looking forward to my next visit!less
